Tell us a little bit about yourself

I love to travel and spend time with my little one. I like exploring new places and trying out different kinds of foods. (I am a complete foodie!) My favorite memories from recent trips to Kauai and Mexico are snorkeling in the water and appreciating the beautiful marine life. I particularly connect with places of natural beauty and history. I feel a sort of contentment listening to the rhythm of the waves, feeling the breeze on my face, and chasing sunsets.

I believe in the concept of a non-wasteful society. One should reuse and recycle as much as possible and only buy stuff that one really wants. I want to inculcate similar values in my daughter. Eating vegetarian food, limiting the use of water, reducing the use of plastic, segregating waste, and composting food waste are small things that I like to do to live sustainably and leave a better environment for our children.

I love reading books, usually non-fiction. The last book I read was Untamed by Glennon Doyle, and this line from that book has stuck with me “There is no greater burden on a child than the unlived life of a parent.”

What is your role at Vianai?

I am a data scientist and a part of the engineering team. As a data scientist, my role is to work with huge amounts of data to gather meaningful insights. This involves exploratory, descriptive, prescriptive, and cognitive analysis of the data. It also involves using AI and the power of machine learning to solve complicated problems and be able to explain them to the stakeholders in a human, understandable form.

What are you working on these days?

I am working on the risk analysis component of machine learning models. My job is to give some transparency and context into the internal working of the model and to allow developers and technical audiences to understand how an AI system works. This includes how a model is trained and evaluated and how AI is able to solve some tasks better than humans.

What is the most exciting part about the work you are doing, and how does it relate to Human-Centered AI?

The most exciting part about my work is being able to make the black box machines more interactive by making the AI decision-making process more transparent, and potentially mitigating various kinds of bias.

I also enjoy identifying the right intelligible technique for specific stakeholders and understanding their requirements to make a product that could cater to both specific needs and generic overall requirements.

What do you think customers appreciate most about working with us?

Everyone has a different story and reason as to why they think the way they do and why they want the things they want.

In my experience, Vianai puts in the effort to understand what makes each person tick, and hence can develop a connection with them, thus providing personalized service that exceeds expectations.
