Head of Culture + Transformation at Vianai

What is your role at Vianai?

I joined Vianai early in the beginning as I believed in the leadership, values and opportunity to make human-centered AI back in 2019. Earlier that year, I reached out to Sanjay and Vishal thanking them for their inspiration and encouragement throughout my career and informed them that this sentiment was in my newly defended and published dissertation on the Impact of Advanced Technologies on the workplace and workforce. A congratulatory text response, a quick meeting in a NYC subway station, a flight to California later and I joined Vian as employee number 8 (my lucky number). As a small startup and as we scaled, my day to day is rarely the same. While a majority of the company are designing and delivering the best enterprise AI product, my goal is to also ensure we are designing and developing the best AI company. To build human-centered products, we have to be human-centered, so we practice empathy, foster connections, collaborate, ideate with and appreciate each other.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I strive to make a difference. I love to teach, learn, share and grow. Outside of Vianai, I am professor of culture and leadership at USC,  a room parent, and an avid sports fan of Ohio University, The Ohio State Buckeyes, USC Trojans, NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. I enjoy cooking, traveling and seeing the world through my son’s eyes where everything is new, exciting and finding joy in simple things (like an elevator, parking garage or airport).

What are you working on these days?

Constant, continuous change, engagement and evolution. Working with our customers and our team exploring how you adapt while you adopt new technologies and changes in the market. How do we continuously learn, share and grow together. From designing company philosophies to translating those into employee-centered policies and programs (paid parental leave and lifelong learning).

What is the most exciting part about the work you are doing, and how does it relate to Human-Centered AI?

Vianai’s work is also our WHY. To make human-centered AI, we must be ourselves human-centered. Our values and our work aligned to be inclusive, connected, collaborative and safe.

What do you think customers appreciate most about working with us?

Our customers value our value and our values – that what we do, what we’ve built and how we work as humble partners, servant leaders, sharing what we know and exploring with them how to unlock the human potential and organizational knowledge within their organization.
